The 2018 KIA Stinger Brings The Stars Together For Raceway Challenge

The Big Apple got “Stung” earlier this month when a star-studded group of celebrities took to the streets of New York City to race one of the year’s most anticipated automobile releases – the all new 2018 KIA Stinger. Located on a transformed, fully functioning race track, fashion designer Brandon Maxwell, supermodels Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls, baseball legend Alex Rodriguez, bestselling author and TV host Derek Blasberg, and social media superstar Cameron Dallas gathered to test out the KIA Stinger in the very first Stinger Runway Racing challenge. Swanepoel was able to pull away from her celebrity competition, and take home first-place bragging rights in a race against the clock.

Kia Appoints New Head of Dealer Development

New Head of Kia’s Dealer Development

Kia has recently announced that there will be a new head of dealer development for the company. Ian Kewley was appointed to the position, taking over for the retiring Ian Wilson. Wilson had been an integral part of Kia for nearly 30 years.

Paul Philipott, CEO and president of Kia Motors (UK), gave a statement, taken from motortrader.com, about how important Wilson had been to the company. In it, he said, “Ian is one of the founding fathers of the Kia family in the UK. He has had a vitally important role within Kia every step of the way and we thank him for dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism. He will be greatly missed but I know that he will enjoy his well-earned retirement.”

Adopting a more European look, Kia appoints designer Pierre Leclercq asthe new Head of their Style department

Kia’s New Head of Style

Kia has recently announced that they will be appointing a new style head. Pierre Leclercq was selected for the position. Leclercq was formerly a designer at BMW, as well as Great Wall Motor. Kia has been switching up their lineup recently, and earlier this month Ian Kewley was appointed as head of dealer development.

With the experience he possesses from his previous positions, Leclercq should be able to perform very well in the position. Leclercq will be working specifically towards strengthening Kia’s position in the Chinese auto market. Sales for the company have been down in the country. Having a fresh take on the company’s style strategy moving forward may help strengthen the company’s position within the country.
