Outten History

The Outten Family of Dealerships began December 7th, 1979 at the corner of 19th & Tilghman Streets in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This was the grand opening of Outten Chevrolet, Inc. by Willie Outten.  The dealership is now located at the corner of 17th & Tilghman Sts. in Allentown and has served the Lehigh Valley for over 30 years.

In 1990, the Outten Used Car Center, a budget-oriented used vehicle dealership was opened on South 4th St. in
Allentown. In addition to standard bank financing, the Outten Used Car Center offers in-house auto loans and has helped hundreds of customers re-establish their positive credit when other lenders refused to help. The Outten Used Car Center is co-owned by Moe Pagni.

In 1990, Outten Buick Pontiac of Hamburg, PA was opened in a small building in downtown Hamburg. A few years later the Chevrolet and Oldsmobile franchises were added and the dealership moved onto the Route 61 highway.  Over time, the Oldmsobile and Pontiac brands were discontinued and Outten chose to focus all its resources on Chevrolet.  Outten Chevrolet of Hamburg is now the top selling Chevrolet dealership in Berks and Schuyklill Counties and one of the top selling Chevrolet dealerships in Pennsylvania.

In 2004 Willie Outten and son James Outten added Outten County Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep in Hamburg, PA to the family of dealerships. Outten County Chrysler ranks in the top 20 in sales from Mid-Atlantic U.S. Chrysler dealers and top 100 nationwide. It is a Five Star Elite dealership ranked #1 in Chrysler's prestigious Dealer of the Year program for the Mid-Atlantic US in 2006.

In October 2010, James Outten was proud to open Outten Kia of Hamburg and is very excited to represent such an exciting and fast growing brand of vehicles.

The Outten Dealerships have strong ties to the community and various charitable affairs. During the September 2001 attacks on New York, James Outten with other team members personally traveled to Ground Zero just days after the tragedy to provide much needed supplies to the Red Cross and NYFD staff. After Hurricane Katrina, the Outten Dealerships led a Convoy of Care to storm stricken Mississippi and Louisiana to provide displaced families with food and building materials. The Outten dealerships regularly donate to local causes as well as programs such as Toys for Tots and the Boy's Home orphanage in Reading, PA.

Both Willie Outten and James Outten are very active in every Outten dealership and look forward to working with your family for many years to come for all your vehicle sales and service needs.
